In Downtown Sanford, Florida, there used to be a place called Little Fish, Huge Pond. It was a small bar that catered to bohemians. I used to DJ there Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
I’m not quite sure if this photo happened during Mardi Gras. Yet, I did take the picture at Little Fish.
As for why people wear masks during Mardi Gras, I’ll let neworleans.com tell it:
“Masking became a tradition because during early Carnivals, people put on masks to be able to mingle outside their class and keep their reputation untarnished.”
There you have it.
This photo is in my book Selective Color. Available on Amazon.
